Following found composition, the Manhattan-based recordings utilized in chameleon dictate almost all compositional decisions. The level of one’s distinction within interconnected environments is explored through the horn’s highly adaptive natural beauty. Integrated are often obscured sounds, including win- dow resonance, infrasonic city sounds, ATMs, as well as power and transportation networks that connect the varied environments heard. The work was commissioned by the inimitable Andrew Pelletier.
